Why is it so hard for public figures to stand firm on their beliefs? Typically the pat answer is obviously they are in fear of losing votes, popularity or endorsements. Why then do we call them roll models? If someone in a public position can't stand true to their values and beliefs than they don't get my respect or my vote. It angers me and pains me to see people who are so strong on positions and values, switch sides for fear of possible backlash. What the hell are you afraid of? Why are so many of us afraid of what someone might think? Why do so many of us keep so quite when we really want to shout out what we really feel. Haven't we learned that those that shout the loudest and the longest get the results they came for? Haven't we learned?

How can you stand up more often and voice your opinion without fear of backlash?
